I was well aware that my current pre-amp (TAD 150) was being limited by its built-in IC-based phono circuit so when I saw the Parks Audio 'Budgie' phono pre-amp for $399.00 + $12 shipping on the Bay I figured, why not? I've been listening to for a couple of days now and this is definitely a step-up. I have also been using, about a year now, the PA 'Budgie' Cinemag SUT and that is a great value. The system is dead silent with no hum audible. The proverbial black backgrounds! Don't want to make any actual claims until more time has passed but so far, so good.
Science is the great antidote to the poison of enthusiasm and superstition.
