He is the only guy I knew who had a BIG collection. Almost all Classical too.
I am working hard to weed out my collection as I shrivel up (65 now) so no one has to rent a dumpster to toss out my endless LP crap.
I am down to 1,224 Rock/Pop, 1,410 Jazz, and 900 or so Classical.
I am hoping my day of croak will see only 1K Rock or maybe 800 or so, Ditto Jazz.. and 500 Classical left in my dead hands.
(Nine years ago I had 14,000 Lps..Then had to move. I learned my lesson on 'too many' LPs.)
A pile of old stuff someone might want to keep instead of discard.
I think of that nut in Brazil trying to collect all Lps.. he claims to have millions.. Gonna need a LOT of dumpsters when he dies.. And a big landfill for all the worthless crap. Or the guy who had unoccupied apt building full of used Lps.. Mostly junk.. with no one knowing how to cheaply get rid of the endless piles of trash Lps.
So I guess I frown on big collections.. they are mostly garbage.
