My tonearm has a broken internal wire (white +).
Instead of rewiring the arm my buddy suggested that I short the green (-) and blue (-) to a common ground since it ends up that way at the phono inputs( Audible Illusions 2D). This will allow me to reassign the white wire to a different pin on the DIN connecter that plugs into the bottom of the tonearm and at the input pin of the tonearm (most likely the blue pin). Green and red pins will remain untouched. Sounds tricky but it seems to make sense.I would be essentially using 3 wires by commonizing the neg.
output from the cart. Does anyone forsee any problem(s)that might arise (noise, hum)and if so, why? I stripped off the shrink tubing on the DIN plug of the interconnect and saw no shielding that may cause issues.
