London CS 2301
I have a few other Bach Brandenberg Concerto box sets. But Munchinger and the SCO is my favorite.
Example: Mariner (first version) with St. Martin in the Fields. (Philips 6700 045) displays absolute virtuosity with precision. Who could doubt its correctness.
Munchinger/SCO delivers virtuosity with a warm recording that has flair and energy.
I also like the Munchinger/SCO Vivaldi 4 seasons very much as well.
fwiw dept. My first copy of CS2301 was a later repress. It became my favorite straight away. Knowing this, and when I saw the above pictured London Blue Back copy available on ebay...I bought it without delay. and the price wasn't very high. Well worth any effort to get.
