Which Spanish guitar did you acquire? I was at on time attempting to learn how to really play - my instructor was a member of the SF Guitar Quartet - and while doing so became enamored with higher end guitars. My instructor had a Bernabe Model 50 that he allowed me to take lessons on occasionally - his motivation was to try to sell it to me as he had replaced it with a different guitar. Even a Model 50 - which was towards the lower end of the Bernabe range - was a fantastic instrument. There is just something about the better instruments. Ultimately I decided that I wasn't good enough to deserve a guitar like that.....when it comes to musical talent there is a big difference between desire and capability!

Of course, every instructor I had who played my modest student guitar made it sound a lot better than I did!

I have tried to learn guitar 3 times, from 3 different instructors, and even changed from trying to learn classical technique to folk....and I still suck. But I love the instruments themselves.
