no...both of my current Artemiz arms are the model previous to the very latest. i have the same bearings, 'intelligent' counterweights, and arm coating, but the newest unit has that transmitter board. i don't know that i'd pay to upgrade from my current arm, partially because my arm/cart combo is dead quiet....zilch, in terms of noise, artifacts, etc.my initial comment was to suggest you not buy one of the earlier 'triangle' counterweight, 'non-coated' arm units, as i started with one of those and noticed an improvement when changing to my current arms.
but if you're buying one literally from scratch, and targeting a new one, then yeah, get the current model...unless of course you can find a dealer that has the previous model in stock that he/she will heavily discount.
and...let me add...i have mounted a Rega 900 on a Xerxes, and there is no question that the Artemiz will yield huge improvements.
