Vibraplane is not active isolation, it's passive with active leveling; this is active isolation....

the picture above shows 2 active isolation platforms; the Herzan TS-140 under the tt, and the TS-150 under the preamp and digital player.

a Vibraplane is passive. it's an air bladder. you can have one that has manual leveling, or active leveling. but at the end of the day it's a spring like any other passive isolation. not to say that it's not effective. but any passive isolation will have an unpredictable effect.

the link below is to true active isolation; the Herzan TS Series. Halcyonics also makes a similar product. these active platforms are the latest technology developed mostly for going under an electron microscope. I have 2 in my system; one under my tt, and one under my preamp and digital player. they take decoupling any audio gear to a whole new level of performance.
