As noted prices are high but for what you get I lean to the AR in terms of better sound than expected and the Thorens as probably the best in pure music per buck.

If the Thorens has the stock arm then $400 is a fair price. You want to replace that arm and $250 will be needed for a matching quality second hand arm. Then the table will compete well up there with rated tables. Check if springs are new, condition of grommets, if table has been recapped & of course a new belt. If the motor has any indication of knock etc then pass.

Inmate DDarch has spares or will refurbish when $ allow.
