Left Canada just about two years ago for a position in Florida which went bust within the first few weeks! That after another position in Canada misrepresented itself and instead of tech work, I was basically going to be a telemarketer...
Cut to now- moved to Wichita about 9 moths ago, found a dream job (which is ironic, as I still have to make 1st year probation before I become a "real boy" here). There aren't many (or any) bands that I can see that have need of an improvising rock bass guitarist. Wife hates the isolation (compared to where we used to live), and I am continuously amazed at how many people here actually appear dumb as a stump! I'm not dissing Wichita as whole (I do like the city and the rural area where we live), but people around here drive like they learned from their cat, haven't a clue what customer service really is (at the risk of stating the obvious, Wal-Mart truly is ghetto here, whereas Target couldn't even compete wit them in Canada, where the big "Mart of Wal" is certainly neater, better stocked and the staff know how to do their jobs!)
Sorry for the rant, but I guess it just shows that yes, I'm feeling the stress mode you describe!
Cheers,
Dman
