Sndtrx,Hadn't thought about them in years, but I once joined the International Preview Society record club and am still enjoying the albums purchased through them. I remember that in their advertising they were very proud of both the performances and the pressings of the albums they sold.
There is a post by "dirkronk" from September 2000 in the Music Lane archives that gives more information than I ever knew (link below). After reading it, I had to go and look at a couple of my IPS records. Just like dirkronk had said, the IPS Philips recordings say "made in Italy" rather than the usual "made in Holland." I don't find the IPS pressings any less enjoyable to listen to, however.
