I'm not associated with the individual concerned (Yannis Tome info@back-promo.co.uk), but thought I would pass on his name for anyone after custom cables at a significantly lower price for a superior performance to the more "famous" brands. I was extremely impressed by the workmanship and attention to engineering fundamentals (especially around shielding).
I was after low capacitance cable and so far I have tried out two of his phono cables - one was made from Van Damme cable (silver coated copper) with high quality connections. A 1.2m length was 75pf and I recently got a custom starquad phono cable made which is 35pf for a 1m length. What was special about this second cable was that Yannis ensures the shielding covers as much of the cable as possible.
The screenshot is the noise floor on the MC input of my phono stage. Note that this is AFTER a further +10dB gain is added on my Benchmark ADC1 USB. This cable (the starquad) is even quieter than my Cardas Neutral Reference (with an additional foil shield that I added) and some 15dB quieter than my Kimber Tak which is unusable without my additional foil shield without audible mains hum.
Given the quality of his work and engineering, I feel he deserves a wider audience especially in view of his pricing.
