Hi all.

Can excessive brightness be a sign that a cartridge is damaged or has run out?

I'm playing an Ortofon MC3 Turbo. Bass is still full and there's no distortion but things sound very trebly. Not shrill, just bright.

I'd been trying to dislodge a small piece of dust with a record brush but I can't imagine that would cause this distract a difference. If I'm not just imagining it.
