Music Matters Stereo 'Cool Struttin' arrived today...

and I had a chance to compare it to Classics Record Mono reissue and OJC Stereo issue from the 80s.
Hands down, this is one of the best jazz record I have heard. Between the mono and stereo has a very different balance ( not sure who the mastering engineers were ) and mono pressing might be enhanced with a capable mono cartridge ( I only have stereo cartridge ) but the Music Matters reissue sounds very lively giving a stronger presence to each musicians. Plus it has more vivid tonal colours to my ears than either past reissues. I have other Music Matters LPs but this was the first time I got to compare directly with other pressings.

I have their Kenny Drew Undercurrent 45 rpm but I might pony up for the 33 rpm version. I was listening to them earlier but fed up with having to get up at every tune. Plus I recall Joe Harley saying that Kevin's own cutting system at newer 33 might be better than the old 45. This will make an interesting comparison.
