Interesting mod. It would be even more interesting with a test report. I wonder about separation vs output.
Have you tried potting your 95? If you unscrew the top and remove it, you can get a small amount of liquid epoxy into the screw receptacle. It won't take much. Then the top must be glued back on, but first fill the empty spaces with modeling clay.
This seems to help. It mimics the Clearaudio wood top only different. All the Clearaudio MMs are basically AT95 motors in high end clothing.
Somebody on Karma opened up his 95 and did more extensive potting. It should be even better.
The ATN95SA is a Jico shibata - bonded tip on a straight aluminum cantilever. This is a nice sounding stylus IMO and there's nowhere to go from here in aftermarket styli except possible 3472 series substitutes. These include the P-mounts with the tall sides like the AT92E(CD) and are better on med/low mass arms. The selection is pretty much the same only they'll track around 1.5g and seem a little more nimble.
Other than that it's either stylus transplants or sending it to someone like Soundsmith. I bet it sounds pretty good as-is. Maybe I'll look for a suitable magnet. Any suggestions?
