RE: Considering a new tonearm

You've got a pretty nice setup. Have you considered a dedicated table for mono play as an alternative? I bought an Empire 208 which performs that role exceptionally well, probably for less than some of the tonearms that do repeatable VTA. As a bonus, it came with an SME 3009 arm that lets me do the headshell thing too. It sounds darn good!

My phono stage has multiple inputs, which makes the dual table setup quite easy (mono MM vs. stereo MC have their own loading/capacitance settings). But switching cables is easier than switching headshells or tonearm wands and dialing in the VTF/VTA again.
