RE: Technics SL D3 vs. SL 1900

Both are VERY close, so buy whatever you prefer, is cheaper, or in better condition (also take a look at the cartridges mounted, and the condition of the needle.

Rumble will be the same effectively, don't worry about that theoretical difference in rumble spec. Motor is the same, arms are virtually identical and will perform the same.

What I DO like more about the 1900:
- the hinges are of the nice metal & screw-on type, not the crappy plastic slide-in type (which always breaks) of the D2.
- I also like that the 1900 has separate 33/45 rpm pitch dials. The D-seris just has one, so you can't get both speeds exactly right without turning: if 33 rpm is just right, 45 will always be a bit off. You can get it *almost* right by turning the adjustment pots below the platter, but never exactly right. Not that this is a problem for playing, but somehow I just can't stand seeing the strobo drift slowly.

What I DO like more about the D3:
- the controls are all located at the front of the machine, outside the dustcover, so are always accessible.
