Washi comes in variety of translucency, weight, strength and textures, colours and patterns. ( as any paper does )

For instance, Ma Recording's inner sleeves are made of washi but much thicker and tougher than lyra's. I was told they are the same kind used for the indoor shoji screens.

Altho, you can use some washi ( chiyogami ) as an origami paper it is normally not used due to almost impossible to make a sharp neat crease. And they are certainly are much heavier than what Lyra use.
A standard origami paper used today are smooth coated in one side for easy creasing and off set white on the other side. And they are not translucent as used in Lyra cartridges and weighs much heavier.

Looking at both my Kleos SL and Kandid, the washi paper used to protect their generator from dust getting in ( I am assuming this ) is much lighter and translucent than any origami paper.
