Just flew in from the West Coast where I ate, drank, sight-see'd and Stereo'd for a too-short long weekend. I hope sometime for the opportunity to be as a good a host in return.
The CTIQ had been recently outfitted with my fave ZYX R50 which I helped dial in along with a new crossover and horns for the Pi4-like speakers. The Classic Two is all you've been told and then some. Compared to a heavily tweaked HW-19 IV with 9T arm or stock Traveler, all with the same cartridge, step-up and phono stage, it has greater weight and definition in the bass along with an airier, more "Single-ended" presentation all the way to the upper treble.
Listening to a 300B-driven-by-EL84 single-ended amp my host had recently designed and built was a treat, too. Great trip!
