try using a penetrating oil and let it soak in for a few minutes / hours. Most likely the metal in the sled and the metal in the headshell (two different alloys)have some sort of negative interaction or just some oxidation.
If you have some WD-40, squirt some of that into the sled pocket. Then be prepared to wipe the headshell clean after you've got it free.
