Before I bought the GT 2000 I had the PX-3 and the PX-2. I knew nothing about the sound quality of the GT. I had seen photos of it, but it was like the Unicorn. Something to read about and never see.

When I finally decided to buy a GT 2000 instead of putting a $3000 ZYX cartridge on the PX-2, it was because of a post by an AudioKarma member who lives in Hong Kong and had heard the GT 2000 despite not owning one. He said that it was a great turntable. I knew that a reasonable cartridge on a great turntable was a better proposition than a great cartridge on a reasonable turntable, so I bought a GT 2000 from Japan.

That was in late 2008. I still regard the GT 2000 as one of the best sounding components that I have ever heard in 35+ years of loving hi-fi sound. I will never regret the decision to buy one and I still to this day thank that AK member whose posting tipped me over to buying the turntable rather than the cartridge. As a music lover and hi-fi lover, acquiring a superb Source component is the foundation of a great system. A great system cannot be a great system without a great Source component. I got lucky with the GT 2000. I had no idea how good it was at the time of purchase and I actually love it more now than I initially did upon hearing it despite it being 'Love at first bar'. 8 ^)

AudioKarma now has about 16 or so members who have GT 2000s. They all had very good turntables before the GT. They all love their GTs. It's a hard turntable not to love. 8 ^)

One more thing; The AudioKarma memeber who inspired me to buy the GT 2000 bought one soon after and loves his GT also.
