RE: because the digital circuitry already needs a low V supply

Caveats first... I am fairly new to TT's . I have @ one year experience with a Music Hall 5.1 turntable , the stock MM cartridge and it's SS 1.2 phono stage .
I wanted a tubed phono stage and had read good things about the Hagerman stuff .
I just received the Coronet 3 phono stage and have run 18 albums through it so far . The case that it comes with is plastic and definitely not
considered audio jewelry .
For @ twice the price of the MH unit , this thing is a very large step up ! The tone is more realistic , the detail is much better without being
distracting and the separation of the individual sounds is greatly improved . The bass is deeper with more delineation and the highs have a nice sparkle .
For $479 assembled and delivered to my door , I am very pleased !
I can't even imagine what the $3k unit would sound like !
