Thanks! Thank you all for the comments and for the extra effort, Bill, to make and post the sound file.

I've had to clean a couple of the LPs twice (in addition to my normal cleaning efforts [VPI, Ollie's, etc.] and prodigious use of the ZeroStat) before the "tics level" came down into what is the "Fabulous Pristine Norm™" of the Mono Box quality that most everyone has experienced.

Additional info from my experience: though several folks have suggested that the records shipped in such clean condition that they do not require the usual good cleaning ..., that has been true on only some of my discs. And, because I am usually kinda anal-retentive about LP cleanliness, I've decided to go ahead and clean the batch. (But, man, was I hoping to skate past cleaning 14 LPs!) I also noticed that, while some LPs had no noticeable static charge, others had high levels of static right out of the box the first time.
