RE: Yet another Beatles post - early reaction and a question

Not to split hairs with volunteer's post below, but I think it's more accurate to say that neither abbey rd nor let it be had their respective multitrack recordings "mixed" for a mono master, only stereo. So, mono versions of let it be & abbey rd were "fold-downs" of the stereo masters, not a true mono mix derived from multitrack (8 or 16?) tapes. I understand first two albums, PPM & WTB, were recorded on a twin track machine & overdubbed to another twin track, which is why a real stereo image was pretty impossible. Link below.
