My first "real" table was a Dual 1215S that I bought new in 1972 or 1973.
It was a workhorse that lasted me until 1989 or so. I just always liked the wood look. Plus you could also play the occasional 78 on it with a quick stylus change. Oh and I almost forgot,cleaning the records with my trusty
discwasher D4 system was a snap because of the strong idler drive.
Dean,I believe that the 1229 is also an idler not a belt drive.
