Any Garrard gurus out there know about the strobe light wiring?

I'm going over the TT and the strobe wires are not connected. This table has a single bulb with 2 wires hanging from the housing. One is brown and a "normal" gauge for the undercarriage, the second wire is a thin black wire twisted to it.

On top it looks like both the "lower molding" as well as the glass cover for the flush strobe are gone. Somewhere along the line, a replacement light was purchased, one that plugs in, but I'm not sure if it will fit (perhaps if the mirror and old bulb are removed).
Anyone out there know how to wire this strobe?

I have the manual, and I've searched over at the Engine, and there is tons of info there, but nothing I could find on the wiring.

Anyone got any ideas?
