RE: Strobe light and disc

A number of questions:

1. Why use a stobe disc at all speed if accuracy is not important.

Speed accuracy IS important.

2. If speed accuracy is important, why not do it as precisely as possible?

Precisely as possible is a ridiculous (and ridiculously expensive) standard. Precisely as necessary is mine.

3. Do you actually use a small strobe disc while playing LP's (please post photos of this, I'd love to see it!).

Actually many strobe patterns permit this as they are smaller than a 12" disk. On some test records strobe markings are given on the record label. Take your own pictures.

4. How much money have you spent on your system (total equipment)?

My system is posted. Do the math.

5. Can you honestly justify every equipment purchase you've made has paid for itself, or have you sometimes bought "the best" when even several grades lower would have been ok?

I purchase what I think I need. I am not here to enrich those who make needless junk or who charge excessively for what is essentially cheap. I could name names.

6. Would you accept it better if it had the letters V, P, & I on the front?

No.

But your recommendation (of the Roadrunner by itself) is for the obsessive who wish to have something to look at and admire while their disk is playing. It has nothing to do with music.
