SL-12XX strobe AC or DC powered?

A post below sought recommendations for a strobe, I always recommend the KAB strobe kit which has a battery (DC) powered quartz crystal controlled strobe light. This strobe is unaffected by AC line variations that can affect AC fluorescent lights used as strobe lights.

I then wondered, what about the strobe lights built into popular DD decks such as the Technics models. Are their strobes AC or DC powered?
