In my experience this can be a issue with your Rega Exact(2). I have seen this before with Rega cartridges, the suspension of the cartidge gets stuck or sticks in one channel or the other (I think), but generally you only get some mild pops when the cartridge is lifted off the LP. If this does not happen with another phono preamp, then there can be some ground issue which is odd... Rega grounds thier arms through the left channel ground lead IIRC... maybe some odd static issue needs the right channel grounded to the arm tube too. I assume you have tried swapping L&R phono leads into the reciver to confrim the problem moves to the other channel?
