Home Vinyl Asylum

Welcome Licorice Pizza (LP) lovers! Setup guides and Vinyl FAQ.

JBL is now owned by Harman International,

parent of Harman-Kardon. I bought these unauditioned because the design interests me. Dual smaller woofers, 4" midranges and the top 2 in a D'Apolito array with the tweeter. Plus they are still relatively efficient, 91 dB/w/m and have decent bass extension, -3 dB at 37 Hz.

My 20 wpc tube integrated drives them just fine and I figured if I didn't like them I wasn't out much. They retail for $450/pr and I got them for $250.

The link below takes you to an interesting story of the history of JBL.
