The electrolytic caps on it's circuit board are almost certainly out of spec by now. Those dammed things are trouble waiting to happen in all vintage gear.
If you really like the table and are willing to invest a bit to keep it going it should be reasonable to recap that table. I took a brief look at the service manual and parts list for the PX-2 and it has 21 electrolytic caps on its circuit boards (if I can count this morning).
It should'nt too expensive to do the job,
