...I certainly did not think they were gouging me. If I did I would have passed. I paid $18 for each 10 inch Wes Montgomery record, which is a limited edition and have five or six songs each. Not bad! The Roy Lanham 7 inch was $10...a bit pricey, but it has four songs on it, has never released music on it, is dead quiet and is great music very well recorded! For 1959, proof positive that they had recording figured out! The Devo was $30, but is a very heavy picture disc, full length, and comes with both a DVD and code for download, which I think is good value. Haven't heard this one yet. Even the shirt I bought...I think it was $14, which is not bad IMHO. It drives me crazy when a shirt with a big brand logo sells for $30...since I am in essence advertising for them, why am I paying a premium!?
I agree, buy them if you want them, and escape a bit of the collector mentality. But there is no escaping the capitalist free market, and it turns the wheel here. So be it.
