Greetings:
I recently went through a similar decision process. I ended up buying a Scout 1.1 with a VPI/Soundsmith Zypher cartridge. Bought it from Music Direct. They set it up, shipped it, and all I did was take it out of the box, put it together and play music. It is fabulous. Sounds great, works great. It will push your budget but it is a good turntable.
All things must be taken with a grain of salt. My previous tables have been B&O and a Technics 1200MKIII.
