RE: Ortofon vs Jico Shibata / Stanton?

Having been through the cartridge madness for many years and owning a dozen or so of many brands, including the Ortofon 540, Shure V15 type 3 with Jico stylus, a Stanton 881 with a Jico stylus and an AT20SLA, I found that I now prefer the bolder more robust sound of a nude elliptical like the Ortofon OM20 and AT130e.
The AT130e is now my favorite MM/MI in my system using low capacitance interconnects. (20pf per foot)
The more advanced profile stylus MM/MI cartridges now sound too polite and tame to me.
Maybe in my older age I just prefer more of a HiFI sound than an "audiophile sound?"
I know how a lot of LP's sound with different cartridges and I can't say I'm missing any detail. I just hear it in a different way now.
Something tells me that if you didn't like the Shure V you won't be all that thrilled with the Stanton 681EEE.
Sometimes "better" doesn't always sound better to everyone.
MC's seem to be a different animal and I have a couple that I like very much and the stylus profiles aren't the same.
