These shaded dog LP's have been around for decades. Probably played on several different turntables with varying degrees of alignment, anti-skate, and questionable stylus issues. It could be that the side with the noise in one channel is the favored side by one of the previous owners, played with a stylus that was not in optimum condition with no anti-skate.
I have several older mono jazz LP's that sound good, but inner groove distortion is fairly common. I can only imagine the types of turntables dating back to the '50's that were used to play them.
Just a guess.
