I have been listening to PG Genesis for almost 40 years. Sonically and artistically, Selling England is probably a peak. However it is not my favorite. I rate Foxtrot higher, for the early period, as it has the perfect balance of fairy tale and frightening themes. The sound is good. I would venture into The Lamb after those. It is a masterpiece, but it takes time to appreciate. It's lengthy too, and though many say it would have made a great single rather than double record set, I don't agree. I just recently heard the live version on the Genesis Archive issue and it made me appreciate The Lamb even more. My guilty pleasure is playing the cut "Fly On A Windshield" at lease breaking volume (via the Classic Records reissue). Lol you will jump out of your chair (like that old Maxell tape ad)
