Me to

I've previously used my late Fathers Nity Gritty and borrowed VPI HW 16.5
from a dealer friend and find my DIY rig actually is capable of better results
the little plastic el cheapo hardware store wet dry vac has a lot more balls than any of the commercial RCM's I've used and I have the luxury of metering the precise amount of suction with my thumb I drilled a small hole in the vacuum hand tool.

I've found the most critical single aspect regardless of the machine being used
is the record cleaning solvent, I prefer Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab Super Record Wash (32 Oz) (RRL) as it lifts and suspends the crud from the groove
I use a carbon fiber (AQ) brush to distribute the solvent.
The RRL also contains a Vinyl lubricant component to restore whatever
was lost in the cleaning process, DIY solvents particularly the ones containg Alcohol typically leave a dry groove and do a piss poor job of actually suspending whatever crud has been dislodged.
