...would be for VPI to put the Cyclone's guts in the 16.5 case, rebadge it as the 16.5i, and cease producing the existing 16.5. Keeping both in the lineup will eat into VPI's profit margin because 1) with so little difference in price, to a certain extent sales of one will be at the expense of the other and 2) the costs of maintaining separate supply chains for the different motors etc. I seem to remember that plenty of us thought the Cyclone was the 16.5 replacement back when it was introduced; now might be the perfect time to make it so. Just my $.02 as a very happy, long-term owner of a 16.5 (which I wouldn't bother to replace with a Cyclone in either version).
