On my backup spinner...a Thorens TD-166II with a Denon DL-103R. It shouldn't work because the tonearm has an effective mass of 7.5gm. I wrapped some sorbothane sheeting around the arm wand between the tonearm rest and the arm wand coupling. It raised the effective mass of the arm and the sorbothane damped the arm. I don't know which made it work but it works well now:

I also polished the platter, cleaned up and oiled the plinth. This old Thorens cleans up nicely.
