Vinyl Asylum Welcome Licorice Pizza (LP) lovers! Setup guides and Vinyl FAQ. |

Hi: I put this on for the first time in a couple of years and now I remember why. This has to be one of the worst pressed clumps of vinyl I have the misfortune of owning. The handwritten scrawl around the lead-out indicates 1A which suggests it came from the first master and early on at that if I read that right. But the bass is so over-driven and distorted it makes me wonder if they ever checked any of them before they went out. I am posting here to see if anyone else has one of these disks and if they all sound like this? I like the music-- he sang "freedom" live on closing of olympics-- but I am tempted to just get a CD and be done with it.
There is also some flutter and irregularity of speed to go with the raspiness which makes this a triple fail. Thank you for any affirmation or suggestion I find a pressing from a different run if that is the case. --Tom
