I had a narrow escape yesterday involving a coffee table with a plate glass top about 3 feet square. We had our 9 month old granddaughter visiting and as she's crawling now, I was worried she would crawl underneath the table and bang her head.
So I decided to up-end the table, but forgot that the glass top isn't fixed. So the next thing I know is the top is sliding and slams into 30 or so of my LPs currently on rotation and propped up against the wall of the lounge.
"The 12 Dreams of Dr Sardonicus" by Spirit bore the brunt. Now this is one of those oil-crisis era 70's wafer thin pressings, just slightly thicker than a flexi disc. Gingerly I slipped it out of its cover and was relieved to find it intact. I played it through and can't find any damage. The LPs immediatel behind seem fine also.
I'm sure if the pile had been fronted by some modern heavier pressings I would be telling a much sorrier tale!
