Glad it worked out for you. I think you just found a pair of components that can't quite work out their differences. I still think it has something to do with the grounding scheme on the 2M series being incompatible with the Rega table/arm/PSU. Grounding issues are funny beasts—they never quite do what you expect.

Did you ever try insulating the cartridge ground from the arm? Project for another day I suppose. You've got gorgeous, hum free records to listen to!
