Half-kiddingly, you should go BACK to Aux 33 Tours because this is a very active shop, with new old stuff coming in frequently just like in the good old days, and the owner travels around a lot for record shows. No affiliation here.

I don't know what genres you are into, but about half a mile further West on Mont-Royal (the above shop's street), it can pay to visit the Bouquinnerie du Plateau, otherwise an excellent French bookstore manned by super friendly folks. They give good hard cold cash for books, CDs and records (these from Friday to Tuesday only) they need - they also price the records accordingly a bit steep but I know for a fact that they generally buy with caution and grade superbly! And they ALWAY manage to have stuff I just never see anywhere else, mostly in classical and jazz. And quite nicely organized for classical! Next door is a newly established and weirdly organized vinyl joint... Melodie or something... Next door yet is le Fox-Troc with a small vinyl selection that may or may not include lower-priced surprises. Once you get there those shops can be found more or less in the same spot.

Do be warned that an on-going student strike here has been hitting downtown night after night for sometime now, and there is kind of an unusual retail business curfew in and around downtown.
