Remove the cartridge and counterweight and secure the tonearm.

Pack your records tightly into boxes that fit exactly. In other words, get cubical boxes with inside dimensions of 12.5-inches by 12.5-inches by 12.5-inches and pack the LPs tightly. Load the boxes so the records are standing on edge. I don't think there's any possibility of warping. I stored my record in a very hot attic for months and they are perfectly flat. In fact, I think it flattened out all my warped records.
