I wanted to follow up the post I made the other day regarding “weird music” so I thought to paraphrase the future Vulcan first officer/ philosopher of the Federation Starship USS Enterprise would be a good start.

“It’s music Jim, but not as we know it.”

I know that, in my personal universe, if I were to spin certain vinyl in front of company I would get looks as if I had grown ears like Mr. Spock. I save my company’s and family’s ears by spinning that vinyl safely out of their earshot.

Because I am equal parts exhibitionist and voyeur I wanted to post more of my “weird” vinyl and ask others to share. By “weird” I don’t mean loud, cacophonous or obnoxious music. It could have those elements but I’m curious what vinyl you love that those in your inner circle “just don’t get?” For example those in my inner circle just don’t get my love of certain 20th century modern composers like Karlheinz Stockhausen.

This is the Asylum so don’t be bashful, share your “weird” vinyl. It’s also okay if you want to feel safe and not do so. My circle wouldn’t understand my affection for (whispering) The Fifth Dimension either.
