The last photo clearly shows build-up of something. A 3-D view would help - I use an old dissecting microscope at 80x.

A small piece of magic eraser repeatedly dropped on the stylus works most of the time.

To rid the diamond of really stubborn debris, a flat toothpick used like a bow on a string will remove almost anything that's stuck. The weight of the toothpick is all the pressure you need.
