I had a Record Doctor II (Basically, the entry level model from Nitty Gritty)....I had so much to learn...
..now, I have a VPI HW 16.5 and LOVE IT. I have tried the Mo-Fi and Disc Doctor Wash fluids....I like both; but I loved how the Mo-Fi gives the vinyl a hard bit and clarity over the Disc Doctor's smooth and super-analogue results.
....however, now I use Phoenix II with Enzyme in a soak (3-8 minutes), vacuum, then 2-3 stages of distilled water (soak for 30 seconds to 1 minute each time) then vacuum. I like how the suction tubes of the VPI are clear...you can see during the removal of the water if the record still has cleaner on it :-).
