I've finally resorted to a database program

Most of my music is classical, so I care about composer, conductor, orchestra, soloists, vocal arrangers, record label, etc. I need the program to help me find whether I have Bernstein conducting a Bizet orchestral suite, or where I filed the Yehudi Menuhin solos where there are multiple composers on an LP.

For a long time, I filed by date of acquisition, which let me go back and see what I was listening to 10 years ago. I could also see how my tastes have changed over the years (I used to LOVE Vivaldi, now meh!).

But if you are acquiring LP's by the boxload, all that goes out the window, which is why I wonder how those of us with BIG collections organize.

Retired, h'mmm. I'm looking forward to it; I only hope I still have my hearing!
