Quiex II material is a much better vinyl formulation. The actual black record can be looked through if held up to a bright light source.
Often covers have the Quiex II sticker, but some (evil) person took the real Quiex II LP and substituted an ordinary LP.
So one must inspect the actual Lp with a bright light to verify it is still the Quiex II pressing. (if you cannot see through the record, it is NOT Quiex II no matter what the cover says.
I would say it has at least a 50% $$ over a regular pressing.
The fact it is a demo usually has no special value.
Tons of demos shipped to radio stations and individual DJs never saw any use at all.
So Promos are no worse than any used LP. (So big collections, most got played once.. Only the Rock Lps of the average American got trashed...
Collectors just had too many LPs to savage more than a few... LOL
In general LPs with special features, like promos with a colored wax instead of the regular black vinyl (I have an R.E.M. promo in green marble vinyl)
Promos made with Quiex II vinyl
Promos with special cuts added..
promos (or regular records) that say Half speed mastered..
Older promos with a special record label on the LP itself. (iusually typical lable but unusual color, or printed demo only on the label)
These are worth more. All other promos are worth only what the usual record is worth
The ones with just a gold stamp on the jacket are just ordinary records.
So companies just cut a corner off the jacket to denote a promo
