I took advantage of a recent Ron Welborne sale and bought two .1 uf/600V Hovlands to bypass my little Cary's stock coupling caps (Multicaps)...thinking that they were affordable enough ($4) and easy enough to install (or UNinstall as the case may be!)
Very nice results! Quieter background, takes a lot of the nasty edge off of problematical CDs. Very "musical". No apparent downside that I can hear yet. I would say that the results rank right up there with a major cable upgrade at the very least...which ain't no small difference.
