Anyone here still like Superiour binding posts? (may also try NO binding posts)

67.21.230.244

I want to change the binding posts on my Quad 63 USA Monitors (they are kind of loose, do not lock down on the spade, but close enough to hold it.) Also thinking about replacing the brass posts on my Music Reference RM9. I had thought about trying, say, Cardas copper binding posts, also Edison Price (but I've been told they are better for bare wire, not quite so tight on spades). However, I stumbled apon praises from Bob Crump and, I think, John Curl about the Superiour binding posts from Allied Electronics. They are cheap (under $5.00 each when you buy 10 or more), and Bob and John seemed to think they sounded good. I have not found any recent posts on these, did not know if anyone was currently using them. One of my cables (Goertz) has silver spades, so I wanted something that worked with spades, but I may buy some Mapleshades and maybe raw Goertz and try bare wire.

I have thought about NO binding posts (wire to wire, using a binding post as a clamp), less connections in the chain. However, it might be a bit treaky to do properly with my Quads (a large cap goes straight to one post, so I would have to run a wire lead off the cap put of the speaker. If I have to do that, I might as well use a post, with the cap soldered straight to it.) The RM 9 I might be able to do postless.
